Non-cooperation campaign underway
By Juan Carlos Linares Balmaceda

Havana, Cuba, October 3rd, 2006, (www.cubanet.org) – On September 30th, a group of activists from the Cuban Liberal Movement met with the purpose of establishing a strategy to involve more Cubans in the non-cooperation campaign. The meeting took place in the town of Punta Brava, in the municipality of La Lisa.

The Liberal Movement’s western regional Coordinating Council set as its priority the transformation of the Cuban people’s mental attitude toward the Castro regime.

Silvio Benitez Márquez, representative of the Coordinating Council stated, “It is the responsibility of all activists to exhort their neighbors not to belong to the Committees in Defense of the Revolution (CDR), or to the Confederation of Cuban Workers (CCW), or to pay dues to the territorial militias, as moral obligations which they must have during this critical juncture in our country.”
