Antúnez arrested again and his home raided. Activists start hunger strike in solidarity with hunger and thirst strike. Rampant acts of civic defiance in support of strike demands

PLACETAS , Cuba , February 11, 2014 . Assembly of the Cuban Resistance. Home of Jorge Luís García Pérez “Antúnez”, National Secretary of the National Front for Civic Resistance Orlando Zapata Tamayo ( OZT Front) was again raided , ransacked and several activists arrested early Tuesday morning, February 11, 2014 . Antúnez declared himself on a hunger and thirst strike on February 10 demanding that the return of all the items that were looted from his home during the first raid that occurred on February 5, 2014 and to cease the harassment and the permanent security cordon around his home which has remained surrounded since January 24, 2014.
 
"This Tuesday at 6:00 am sharp the political police again violated my home again while we were sleeping. The difference the previous occasion is that this time they did not even notify us, this time they broke, kicked, sawed, brought down the doors and took us out of our beds , " declared
Antúnez from Placetas .
 
During the incident were arrested
Antúnez, his wife Yris Pérez Aguilera and activists Yunier Santana Hernández and Leodanis Rico Herrera who were in the house and joined the strike in the evening hours yesterday. Yunier Santana was brutally beaten while he was arrested and taken to the city of Santa Clara because he refused to shout “Viva Fidel Castro” and shouted down with him instead, reports from Santa Clara indicate.
 
"We were taken to the police station. While this was happening again ransacked the house , what little remained seized all the phone numbers had been recovered , four cell phones also we had provided helping hands following the previous theft and smeared the look of my home again with paint blue to clear signs oil , " said Antunez who stressed they would paint the complaint and protest signs on the facade of your home.
 
Reports from the Island confirmed that other activists in different parts of Cuba have started hunger strikes in support of Antunez’s demands. Luis Enrique Santos Caballero began the strike on the morning of February 11 at the home of the activist Yanisbel Valido Pérez in the city of Santa Clara.
 
From the Guamajal Prison reported prisoner of conscience Iván Fernández Depestre and imprisoned opposition activist Arcelio López Rojas went on hunger strike in support of Antúnez’s demands.
 
In the city of Sagua la Grande a dozen OZT Front and the Cuban Reflection Movement activists distributed leaflets in the central streets of the city to inform the public what happened in Placetas and ask for solidarity for the striking activists. According to María del Carmen Hernández Martínez the leaflets say: "Thieving dictators return them the belongings you stole from Antúnez in Placetas who is on a hunger strike. We hold you responsible for his life. Long live human rights. "
 
In the city of Camagüey the activist Daniel Millet Leiva reported that members of the Human Rights Party Affiliated to the Andrei Sakharov Foundation and of the OZT Front signed a declaration in support of Antúnez and other strikers demanding the regime accede to the previously outlined demands.
