Dominican Republic. March 26, 2008. Cuban Democratic Directorate. Young Dominican members of the Dominican Democratic Committee and the International Youth Committee for Democracy in Cuba held a vigil on Monday, March 24th, to remember the Cuban regime’s crackdown on independent journalists in 2003, known as the Black Spring.

The activity began with a candle lighting ceremony as supporters participated in solidarity, showing their concern for all Cubans who live without freedom. The youths prayed and asked for freedom for all Cuban political prisoners, prisoners of conscience, and for immediate democratic change in Cuba.
