Uruguayan Commissioner presents the case of Cuba before the local government of Rocha

Rocha, Uruguay, August 9^th, 2005 - Commissioner Blanca Repetto, representative of the National Party of Uruguay, affirmed her commitment of solidarity with the Cuban people and with Cuban women especially in their struggle for freedom after her participation in the Day of Support for Democracy and Women in Cuba, celebrated in Buenos Aires on the fifth and sixth of the present month.  Repetto, Commissioner of Rocha, presented before the Session of the Departmental Meeting of Rocha on the ninth of August the case of Cuba and entered into the record information about the situation of political prisoners and human rights in the Island. 

Before the Meeting the following documents were given to the following city authorities: 

1- "Informe y Testimonios de la Nueva Prensa Cubana" (Information and Testimonials from New Press in Cuba) by Fernando Ruiz the the President of the Legislature, Prof. Darcy de los Santos.

2- "Boitel Vive" (Boitel Lives) by Jorge Garcia to the Legislative Party Coordinator for the Frente Amplio (Broad Front) Party, Representative Mary Núñez

3- “Los derechos fundamentales y el orden jurídico e institucional de Cuba” (The Fundamental Rights and Institutional and Judicial Order in Cuba) by Ricardo Rojas was presented to Legislative Party Coordinator for the Colorado Party, Representative Dr. Artigas Iroldi.

4- "Informe y Testimonios de la Nueva Prensa Cubana" (Report and Testimonials from New Press in Cuba) by F. Ruiz to the Legislative Party Coordinator for the National Party, Representative José Luis Molina.
